Caldwell Lever, R.Ac.
I received my Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, graduating with distinction. During my training, I also interned at Villa Cathay Care Home in Vancouver, where I had the opportunity to work with complex health conditions under the guidance of experienced Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners.
In early 2026, I began training with the Yinstill team. I was immediately drawn to the clinic’s thoughtful, patient-centred approach and the emphasis placed on both clinical care and the human experience of healing.
My interest in East Asian medicine began many years earlier while living in Tibet, where I received treatment from the late physician to the Dalai Lama. That experience had a lasting impact on me and helped shape my desire to offer others the same qualities I found so meaningful in my own care: undivided attention, clear explanations, compassion, and individualized treatment.
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I worked as an award-winning filmmaker and later as a high school teacher. Both experiences continue to influence the way I practise. I believe patients benefit from understanding what is happening in their bodies and why we are choosing a particular treatment approach, so they can feel informed and actively involved in their care.
Having lived and worked across three continents, I have come to see the healing journey as something deeply universal. My goal is to create a calm, respectful space where patients feel supported physically and emotionally as they move through their own health and fertility journey.
I live in downtown Vancouver with my wife, Lisha, and Gunnar the hound dog. Outside the clinic, I enjoy spending time in the forest, exploring local cafés, sketching, and making comics.
