What Patients Commonly Share About Their Experience at Yinstill
Across years of patient feedback and shared reflections, a few themes come up consistently:
- More than clinical care: many describe feeling steadied, supported, and held – especially during uncertainty, loss, or major transitions.
- A calm, welcoming environment: people often notice the atmosphere and the intentional pace of care.
- Feeling safe and oriented: from the physical space to how appointments unfold, patients commonly feel respected, grounded, and clearly guided.
- Whole-person support: many share that they’re met as a whole individual – not reduced to symptoms, diagnoses, or timelines.
- Relational and consistent care: patients often describe a steady practitioner relationship, with care that adapts as needs evolve.
- Shifts beyond the physical: some reflect on changes in emotional wellbeing, self-trust, and confidence in their bodies over time.
- A steady place to return to: for some, Yinstill becomes a consistent support during a particularly tender chapter of life.
The stories shared below are individual reflections. They are not predictions or guarantees – just personal experiences offered by those who have chosen to share what their time with us has meant to them.
After being a long time Endometriosis sufferer…
After being a long time Endometriosis sufferer since my late teens I came to grips about my infertility issues after two major abdominal surgeries within one year. My husband and I had been trying to concieve for over 2 years.
After Several Unsuccessful IVF Attempts…
Dear Spence & Alda, After a long difficult journey including several unsuccessful IVF attempts, I was beginning to believe that I could never become pregnant. When a friend recommended acupuncture we had already decided that this IVF cycle would be the last but that I would do anything to increase my chance of success.
My back feels better and my libido is higher !
I have been a patient of Dr.Pentland’s for the past 2 months. My weekly treatments are specific to lower back problems and infertility. These visits have been beneficial in helping me feel less stressed and more relaxed.
Thin Uterine Lining
I was only 3 days away from embryo transfer (IVF with donor egg) when my doctor discovered that my body was not reacting as he had hoped to the estrogen, therefore, the lining of my uterus was not as thick as it should be for implantation.
I’m sure it helped in our success!
The entire experience was incredible. I highly recommend it. I really enjoyed talking with Dr Fisher about the process and learning from him. I found the treatments both before and after the transfer extremely relaxing and it was very convenient having it right next door to the OR.
Invaluable part of both my IVF and first trimester journey
“Dr Pentland quickly became “Spence” such is his easy-to-be-around manner. He clearly has a passion for helping couple’s achieve their goals, and that is, the successful birth of a wee monkey. Or in my case,
Do everything you can to feel as involved in the journey as you can, and with patience believe it will happen
My husband and I were trying to conceive for about 2 years until we discovered recently we had a baby on the way. We can’t believe it! It still seems unreal that this is really happening,
Even the bathroom is so inspiring!
Yesterday was the first time I visited the washroom at Yinstill. The moment I open the door and began looking around at all the hopeful positive messages I felt at ease. Surrounded by others’ struggles and stories of happiness calmed me in a lasting way.
Healthy Baby Girl !
I received acupuncture in the late Spring of 2008 at your centre in an attempt to conceive my first child. I wanted to let all of the wonderful staff know that I successfully conceived in June and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in February 2009.
Recovery from repetitive stress injuries
I have been seeing Sean Quigley for about six months now. Before treatment with Sean, I was in constant pain from repetitive stress and injuries in my joints. I tried many alternatives to aid recovery of my hips and shoulders.
