🌱We are all aware of the dangers of consuming too much sugar. Excess sugar can lead to a condition called metabolic syndrome, which is characterized by high blood pressure, high blood sugar, unhealthy cholesterol levels, and abdominal fat. Unhealthy consumption of sugar also contributes to widespread inflammation and even leads to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

🌱You will be surprised how most of our food products contain a lot more sugar than you may have thought. We think of sugar when we see candy, cake, soda, and flavored drinks but have you checked the other food labels that aren't considered sweets? Like: salad dressings, crackers, yogurt, bread, spaghetti sauce, barbecue sauce, ketchup, and breakfast cereals.

🌱If you're trying to limit the amount of sugar you eat, then you need to understand the other names for sugar on food labels. Watch out for sugars and other caloric sweeteners that don’t say “sugar” like corn syrup or any term that ends in “ol,” such as sorbitol or maltitol, or “ose,” such as glucose, dextrose, maltose and fructose. These sweeteners raise your body’s desire for obtaining more sweetness, thus creating more profound cravings that are increasingly difficult to suppress. This results in poorer choices and eating greater quantities of carbohydrates.

🌱Have you ever checked how much plastic food storage you have in your kitchen?

🌱Plastic food containers and packaging are full of toxic chemicals. Studies have found that certain chemicals in plastic can leach out into the food and beverages. This leaching happens even faster and to a higher degree when plastic is exposed to heat.

🌱Plastic contains Bisphenol A (BPA) and Phthalates.
So what are they? Bisphenol A (BPA is used in some hard, clear plastics such as water bottles and baby bottles and in the lining of food cans. Phthalates are used to make soft, flexible plastics such as PVC (“vinyl”) products and food packaging. They provide strength and flexibility to plastic products but have been shown to interfere with the endocrine system in both men and women. Infact, men who are highly exposed to these chemicals have been associated with lowered sperm count.
See? Plastic does not just affect the ocean and sea turtles, it is also causing harm to our health. So NO. Thank you!
