Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) & Irregular Ovulation

Finding balance and support on your fertility journey

What is PCOS?

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormone condition that affects about 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. Many women don’t realize they have PCOS until they start trying to conceive.

PCOS can cause irregular or absent ovulation, making it one of the most common reasons women struggle to become pregnant. It may also show up with symptoms such as acne, extra hair growth, or weight changes. While these challenges can feel discouraging, with the right support many women with PCOS are able to conceive and carry healthy pregnancies.

How PCOS Affects Fertility

  • Irregular or absent ovulation makes it harder to know when (or if) an egg is being released.
  • Hormonal imbalances can affect egg quality and uterine lining development.
  • PCOS often goes hand in hand with insulin resistance, which can impact metabolism and reproductive health, as well as excess androgen hormones, often compounding imbalances.
  • Risks during pregnancy (such as gestational diabetes) may be higher but can be managed with the right care.

A Supportive, Integrative Approach

At Yinstill, we know PCOS can affect both physical health and emotional well-being. Many women feel frustrated or unheard in their medical care. Our role is to create a safe, compassionate space while offering therapies that may support your fertility potential.

The Yinstill Fertility Method™ uses acupuncture, lifestyle guidance, and integrative strategies to help:

  • Regulate cycles and encourage ovulation
  • Support healthy blood sugar / insulin sensitivity, and androgen levels
  • Reduce stress and cortisol
  • Improve sleep, digestion, and energy balance
  • Work alongside fertility treatments such as ovulation induction or IVF

How We Work Alongside Conventional Care

Acupuncture can be a supportive therapy during medical treatment for PCOS, including ovulation induction (with letrozole or clomiphene), insulin-sensitizing medications (such as metformin), or IVF.

We coordinate with your medical team and provide care before and during assisted reproduction to improve resilience, reduce stress, and support endometrial receptivity.

Partner Health Matters Too

Fertility challenges are not always due to PCOS alone. Male factor infertility can also play a role. Optimizing sperm health is an important part of the journey for many couples.

Closing Reassurance

Living with PCOS can feel unpredictable and discouraging, but there are many ways to support your body, regulate cycles, and improve your chances of conception. With compassionate, evidence-informed care, you don’t have to navigate this alone.
