In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Support

I personally didn’t enjoy the pre treatment, but only because I was so anxious about the embryo transfer that I found that I couldn’t relax. However I was thankful for the treatment after the transfer. Because it was onsite, it was only a few feet a way, which meant more time to let the embryo “snuggle in”. It greatly helped to relieve all the tension that I felt leading upto the transfer. Dr. Pentland was of course (and still is) a good sounding board and offered some great advice for the day of the transfer

When I first heard about a new acupuncture service on site at PCRM, I was so glad because of a convenience. I had a really great relaxing experience on the day of embryo transfer. In my opinion, it is very important to be comfortable on this day of treatment. I was surprised of the calm environment: warm bed and blanket, pleasant scent of essential oils and relaxing meditation.

The calming, stress free enviroment helped me relax before the transfer and my treatment after made me feel as though I had done everything I could in order to achieve success. It was so convenient to have the procedure done on site and i couldn’t get over how relaxed i was coming out of my appointment. I was more nervous about the accupuncture then the IVF transfer but once i got in and talked to Dr. Pentland all my fears were resolved and i could have just fallen asleep right there in the office! I would highly recommend the IVF day of transfer procedure, and found it to be a crucial part in the success of my very first IVF attempt!

My husband and I married when I was 33. We both knew we wanted to have a family, so we started trying right way. Having been on birth control pills for years, I found in the first year of trying that I had an irregular cycle. After a year of trying I went to my obstetrician for a fertility workup.

Everything seemed normal, other than the irregular cycle, so we were referred to a fertility specialist and tried a round of IUI with Clomid.

In the summer of 2012, my husband and I embarked on the IVF journey; a potentially stressful experience, which is both expensive and emotional, with no guarantee of success. I had read positive research that supported acupuncture in combination with IVF. Because we were spending so much money on IVF, we wanted to do everything we could in our power to help make this work! Having tried acupuncture in the past, I wanted someone who was familiar with fertility issues.
