How To Hydrate Your Face During Winter

Do you suffer from dry skin, deep wrinkles or both that becomes aggravated in the winter? Well, investing in cosmetic acupuncture to care for these areas of your face can be very uplifting (pun intended!) and free from the myriad of constituents in skin care products.

Winter time can produce very dry skin and this can increase the appearance of deeper set wrinkles on the face. During the winter I recommend to use a deeper facial needling technique to stimulate and activate muscle tone.

Sleep helps you lose weight

Sleep is important for many other things, including reducing your risk of cancer and Alzheimer’s, proper digestion, regulating inflammation, memory, slowing telomere shortening, and the list goes on.

There are 2 stages of sleep; 1. non-REM (which has 1, 2, and slow-wave stages) and 2. REM. Just to keep it simple, they are all important for different reasons.

Over 50% of our gene regulation is governed by our circadian rhythm, i.e.

On Being Still

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. This pretty much goes without saying. It really is a wonder that we thrive, that our bodies continue to perform their varied and miraculous functions almost seamlessly through the stress of it all…our hearts continue beating, our muscles contract and release upon constant demand, our hormones continue to be secreted in harmony with our internal physical orchestrations and our perceived external circumstances. Yes, our bodies can (and spontaneously will) walk the tightrope of nervous tension and adversity,

Liver – what’s it good for?

Taking Care of the Liver

The Liver is one of our largest internal organs and one of the most underestimated organs. It does so much for us, from detoxifying to purifying blood to regulating our metabolism.

Although the liver is wonderful at healing and self-recovery, it does take a great deal of abuse in our everyday lifestyles.  Some of the choices can be fairly obvious (like eating non-organic food,

Sometimes you just gotta say F#%K IT…

If you haven’t got there quite yet, then I am sure you have at least thought about it, or see the possibility out there on the horizon. ‘Screw it, I am sick of trying‘. On some level it feels freeing to say and feel this way I am sure, it may even be healing, maybe. Just the thought of being done with the struggle of infertility may seem euphoric.  But alas, getting to this place doesn’t come so easily.

How to Transition Into Spring Using TCM Theory

The winter time has passed in its somber glory; having brought skies of marbled greys and trees so graceful in their naked beauty. Those cold days for slumber and reflection are waning and a new vitality rises. The air breathes balmy, dissolving the ice that keeps the seeds and tree buds asleep. The blossoms decorate, like cake frosting on the trees in luscious creams and pinks. Spring has arrived!

How to properly do a post-holiday cleanse (and why your body desperately needs it)

The month of December is such an incredible time during which most of us get to catch up with family, friends, loved ones, and of course some of our favourite foods. When advising patients during the holidays, I normally tell them not to worry about this. It’s true that the diet is an important fundamental factor of overall health, however December is not the best time to initiate dietary changes if you want to set yourself up for success. Normally I encourage my patients to eat as they normally would over the holidays, and get back on track with healthy eating habits in January. Therefore, the start of a new year creates a great opportunity for you to cleanse and reset your whole system to set the tone for a healthy year.

They found that overweight men were 11 percent more likely to have a low sperm count and 39 percent more likely to have no sperm in their ejaculate. Obese men were 42 percent more likely to have a low sperm count than their peers and 81 percent more likely to produce no sperm.
